<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auction system for realizing efficient and quick auction without damaging the feeling of presence of auction or operability. <P>SOLUTION: While participation intention data are transmitted from terminal equipment 103 (buyer user) (S1104, S1114), an auction server 101 sets the status flag of a buyer user to "1" (S1106), and when such data are not transmitted in a fixed time (S1107: YES), the auction server 101 sets the status flag to "2"(S1108). The buyer user of the status flag "2" ends his or her participation. The terminal equipment 103 (buyer user) continues to depress a predetermined button by a mouse or the like in order to continuously transmit his or her participation intention data (S1114).
