PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new prophylactic/therapeutic agent for diseases caused by the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle, e.g. reobstruction occurring after the treatment by expanding a balloon a cardiac coronary artery obstruction. SOLUTION: The new prophylactic/therapeutic agent is an inhibitor for the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle, comprising as active ingredient a 14-membered macrolide compound, specifically erythromycin or its derivative, roxithromycin or its derivative, or being a cycline-dependent kinase conjugate expression enhancer.
