PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject foam, comprising a specific vinyl chloride copolymer for pastes, a specific amount of a foaming agent and a specified plasticizer and capable of carrying out the expansion foaming even under processing and molding conditions at low temperatures and further molding a foam having a dense and expanded cell structure. SOLUTION: This vinyl chloride copolymer composition for pastes is obtained by kneading (A) 100 pts.wt. vinyl chloride copolymer prepared by copolymerizing 2-20wt.% compound unit having an ester bond with vinyl chloride with (B) 2.0-15.0 pts.wt. foaming agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide or p,p'- hydroxybisbenzenesulfonyl hydrazide) and (C) 20-200 pts.wt. plasticizer of the formula (R is a 1-7C alkyl; R' is a l-7C alkyl or phenyl) (e.g. dibutyl phthalate). The expansion molding of the resultant composition is preferably carried out at 120-150 deg.C processing temperature to afford a foam. |
