PURPOSE: A dust collecting unit for a cyclone-type vacuum cleaner is provided to meet the convenience of a user by easily removing dust collected in the cleaner. CONSTITUTION: A dust collecting unit for a cyclone-type vacuum cleaner is composed of a casing(80), a cover(30) covering the upper part of the casing and having an outlet(31), and a filter(40) formed under the outlet and filtering fine dust. The casing includes a dust separating chamber(70), an inlet(71) formed at the dust separating chamber, a main dust chamber(50) formed under the dust separating chamber, a partition(73) installed between the dust separating chamber and the main dust chamber, an auxiliary dust chamber(60), and a bottom formed under the main dust chamber. An upper communication hole(72) is formed at the upper part of the dust separating chamber. A lower communication hole(52) is formed at the lower part of the main dust chamber, and communicates the main dust chamber with the auxiliary dust chamber.
