Light from a source 3 passes through a colour separation disc 6 rotatable on a shaft 21 of a motor to a bundle 82 of optical fibres 81 to a decorative article such as the wings of a monster or the shade (91, fig 3) of a table lamp (9). Also provided in the colour separation disc assembly is a rectification circuit (41, fig 1), a high voltage generation circuit 42 and high voltage cord 43 for use with a glass lightning ball 44 or plasma sphere adjacent the article.
