COATING COMPOSITION COMPRISING TRANSITION METAL OXIDE DISPERSED IN RESIN, PREPARATION METHOD OF SELF-PURIFYING SURFACE USING THE COMPOSITION, ORGANIC COATING PREPARATION AND SELF-PURIFYING COATING

PURPOSE: A coating composition, a method for preparing a self-purifying surface by using the composition, an organic coating preparation and a self-purifying coating are provided, to obtain the surface resistant against harmful pathogen and toxic chemical materials. CONSTITUTION: The coating composition comprises a resin which is photochemically inert to the UV irradiation and is resistant against the oxidation by a hydroxyl radical; about 1-10 wt% of a transition metal oxide dispersed in the resin; and optionally poly(tetrafluoroethylene). Preferably the transition metal oxide is selected from the group consisting of TiO2, WO3, ZnO, SnO2, ZrO2, CrO2, SbO4 and their mixture; and the resin is selected from the group consisting of a fluoropolymer and a liquid crystal polymer. Preferably the transition metal oxide has a particle size of about 5-80 nm. The self-purifying surface is prepared by providing a clean surface; spraying the composition to the surface; and drying the surface.
