Disclosed are an apparatus for detecting an Ethernet frame capable of efficiently detecting an Ethernet frame in various ways, reducing manufacturing costs of the Ethernet frame detection circuit, and simplifying a configuration, and an operation method thereof. An Ethernet frame detecting circuit included in the apparatus for detecting Ethernet detecting an Ethernet frame comprises: a received byte counter counting a byte counting value of received data; a mask and pattern storage unit calculating comparison data including mask data and pattern of a frame based on the calculated byte counting value; a comparison unit determining whether the received data corresponds to target data to be detected, based on the calculated mask data and comparison data; and a detection signal output unit outputting a detection signal corresponding to a determination result. |
