<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two layer construction type optical recording medium of a light transmission type capable of enhancing cooling ability of a recording medium and repetitive recording characteristics and realizing a recording capacity twice as large as conventional recording capacity. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium having two recording layers 104 and 204 between a cover substrate 100 and a substrate 200 with grooves and wherein recording or playback is performed at respective recording layers 104 and 204, a first recording layer construction 101, an intermediate layer 108, a isolation layer 109 and a second recording layer construction 201 are provided in this order. The first recording layer construction 101 is formed by successively laminating a first protective layer 102, the first recording layer 104, a second protective layer 106 and a first inorganic layer 107, the second recording layer construction 201 is formed by successively laminating a third protective layer 202, the second recording layer 204, a fourth protective layer 206 and a second inorganic layer 207 and the ratio t/T1 of the thickness t of the intermediate layer 108 to the thickness T1 of the first recording layer construction 101 is specified to be 0.2 to 1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
