<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically select an appropriate alternative sheet feed section while taking account of specified sheet and image quality set by received print data when the specified sheet set by externally received print data is not loaded to any one of a plurality of sheet feed sections. <P>SOLUTION: When a sheet feed section loaded with a specified sheet is not present (No at S102), alternative sheet and image quality are selected (S111) among combinations (selection candidates) of sheet and image quality printable with the type of received print data preferentially from that having an image quality close to the image forming results being obtained with the specified sheet and image quality. If the print data type is altered when the received print data is printed in output print data type, existing converted data is discarded and reconverted (S113) and then a sheet is fed from a selected sheet feed section and an image is formed with a selected image quality (S114). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
