<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve complicatedness in key entry by making it possible to use an electronic settlement system 10 without key entry of user identification information. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic settlement system 10 has a network 20, a settlement processing terminal 30, a pay content providing terminal 50, a user use terminal 60, and a storage medium 70. When the user identification information is transmitted to a prescribed destination from the user's terminal 60 in receiving the pay contents from the pay contents providing terminal 50, the amount of money corresponding to the usage charge of the pay contents is subtracted from the balance corresponding to the user identification information in the settlement processing terminal 30. The storage medium 70 can be read at the user's terminal 60.
