PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for burying a steel pipe pile, which eliminates the fear of causing deflection of the steel pipe pile even in the burial of the long steel pipe pile, and which requires only a small-sized burying apparatus and a small-sized working machine. SOLUTION: The steel pipe pile 39 is held from a radial outside in an arbitrary position away upward from ground in the range of preventing the deflection of the pile 39 from being caused between a holding part of the pile 39 and the ground; and work, wherein the pile 39 is rotated and subjected to a downward pushing force so as to penetrate into the ground, is repeated. A gap is prevented from being made between the pile 39 and a ground-side hole by the deflection of the pile 39, so that strength of the pile 39 against a normal load is ensured; the mount of penetration by the pile 39 in one process is limited so that the miniaturizing of equipment required for the work for burying the pile 39 and a reduction in working cost can be brought about; and the work for burying the pile 39 on a narrow job site is facilitated.
