PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the output by preventing temporary drop in the output voltage due to the stopping action of an inverter for suppressing the temporary surge of output voltage. SOLUTION: A starting circuit 7 for a switching power unit is provided with a first voltage supply circuit which supplies an active filter control circuit 6 and a converter control circuit 12 with the first voltage, which is determined by a zener diode Z1 at or over their starting voltage; a second voltage supply circuit which supplies them with a second voltage which is not larger than the voltage being obtained by rectifying the output of each auxiliary windings L5 and L3 of a boosting choke coil 5 and an insulated transformer 11, and is determined by a Zener diode Z2 at or larger than the stopping voltage of the active control circuit 6 and the converter control circuit 12; and a switching circuit which supplies the active filter control circuit 6 and the converter control circuit 12 with the first voltage of the first voltage supply circuit, immediately after turning the power on, thereby starting them and supplies them with the second voltage of the second voltage supply circuit, together with the voltage from rectifying circuits 10 and 13 after the start, thereby operating them.
