<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for protecting the knee capable of covering a corner part of a case opening peripheral edge by a lapping material at deployment expansion of the air bag and easily carry out a storing work of a completely folded body into the case. <P>SOLUTION: In the air bag device for protecting the knee, the air bag 45 stores an inflator 38 at the inside and is folded to be made to the completely folded body 47 and is stored in the case 16. The lapping material 49 arranged at the periphery of the completely folded body 47 is provided with a body part 50 and engagement pieces 56A, 56B. The respective engagement pieces 56A, 56B are provided with restriction means 57, 48 for restricting deviation of the lapping material 49 from the completely folded body 47. In the lapping material 49, positions becoming the neighborhood to the four corners of the peripheral edge of the case opening 17a at storing of the completely folded body 47 are notched so as to prevent interfering of the air bag 45 at the deployment/expansion with edge parts at both left/right sides at the peripheral edge of the case opening 17a and the neighborhood to the corner part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
