It is intended to provide a blood coagulation promoter capable of showing both of an excellent blood coagulation-promoting effect and an excellent clot-removing effect, and a blood collection tube packed with this blood coagulation promoter. A blood coagulation promoter characterized by containing at least one member selected from the group consisting of hardly water-soluble polyoxyalkylene derivatives, partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol, adsorptive inorganic materials and hydrolases capable of hydrolyzing a bond between Arg and an arbitrary amino acid residue and/or a bond between Lys and an arbitrary amino acid bond in peptide chains and polyvinylpyrrolidone, preferably together with water-soluble silicone oil; and a blood collection tube characterized in that the above blood coagulation promoter is packed in a bottomed tubular container.
