PROCESS FOR PRODUCING RECOMBINANT ANTIBODY

It is intended to provide a process for producing a recombinant antibody whereby a complete recombinant antibody which can be hardly produced on a mass scale by the existing methods can be efficiently expressed in a host organism system or a cell-free translation system and easily purified. Namely, a process for producing a recombinant antibody which comprises transcribing and translating a gene containing a chaperonin gene and an antibody heavy chain gene and/or an antibody light chain gene, thus expressing a fused protein comprising the antibody heavy chain and/or the antibody light chain bonded to chaperonin via a peptide bond, and constructing an antibody by using the antibody heavy chain and the antibody light chain excised from the fused protein, characterized in that, in the fused protein as described above, the chaperonin is in the form of a single chaperonin molecule or a chaperonin oligomer having 2 to 10 chaperonin subunits bonded to each other via peptide bond(s) and the antibody heavy chain and/or the antibody light chain are bonded to the N-terminal or the C-terminal of the chaperonin subunit and/or the bonded sites of the chaperonin subunits bonded to each other via peptide bond(s).
