PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer stable against electric field oxidation and/or reduction, especially against the electric field reduction. SOLUTION: The polymer emits fluorescent light in a solid state, has a polystyrene-converted weight-average molecular weight of 10<SP>3</SP>to 10<SP>8</SP>, and has repeating units selected from arylene, bivalent heterocyclic and bivalent aromatic amine groups, wherein the polymer has such a structure that at least one of ends of its main chain has an unsaturated hydrocarbon group containing no aromatic ring by directly combining the group with any one of the repeating units.
