<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device capable of improving mounting workability of a brake lever, reliability such as operability and strength of the brake lever. <P>SOLUTION: In the brake lever 8, a supporting shaft 51 erected on a flat plate part 61 of a first bracket member 23 is inserted in a through hole 48 of a grip member 21 connected with a brake wire 12. The grip member 21 is turned toward outside, and one end side of a coil type compression spring 27 is inserted in a recessed part 53 formed in an undersurface in a elongated condition. The other end side of the coil type compression spring 27 is abutted on a spring receiving part 68 extended inward at a lower edge part of the flat plate part 61 of the first bracket member 23. The first bracket member 23 and a second bracket member 24 are fastened and fixed with each screw 22 to sandwich a handle 17.
