<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driving apparatus capable of preventing an abnormal operation of a system and protecting a circuit in a state of small load current, such as during a stand-by state of the system. <P>SOLUTION: A load driving circuit with a built-in current limiting function 1 supplies a voltage of a power supply Vin such as a battery to the load, and limits the output current so as not to exceed the limit value. On the other hand, in the stand-by state where a power switch or the like is not turned on, a stand-by signal STBY is supplied from a standby control unit 2 to a microcomputer, and a current limit value switching signal which sets the current limit value of the load drive circuit low is inputted into the load driving circuit 1. In this state, when the load current abnormally increases and exceeds the current limit value set at low, the current is limited and the output becomes low.
