PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platemaking method for a cylindrical flexographic printing plate for realizing further high-definition and high-quality flexographic printing by using a photosensitive resin plate having an IR sensitive layer on its surface, and to provide an exposure apparatus to be used for the above method. SOLUTION: In the platemaking method for a cylindrical flexographic printing plate, when the plate is irradiated with active rays from an active ray lamp 1 through an image mask disposed on the IR ray sensitive layer, irradiation is controlled by installing a partition plate 7 so as to increase the proportion of the light quantity of the active rays incident within a specified range of the incident angle with respect to the active rays entering the cylindrical photosensitive resin plate on a sleeve 8. This method solves problems of a conventional cylindrical flexographic printing plate that the print resolution is not sufficiently increased and that a conventional plate can not be used for the usage requiring high resolution and accurate reproducibility of printed dimensions, for example, an electric material such as electronic parts composed of fine figures and micro characters in the field of printing securities.
