PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic domain wall moving magneto-optical recording medium in which a magnetic domain wall can be separated to be independent without annealing and which can obtain a satisfactory and stable reproduction/recording characteristic even though a substrate with a narrowed track pitch is used. SOLUTION: This is a method for manufacturing the magnetic domain wall moving magneto-optical recording medium having a plurality of layers including at least a dielectric layer, a reproduction layer, an shield layer and a memory layer on a substrate where an inclination part having a face nonparallel to a recording track face at both sides of the recording track. By emitting atomic particles having directivity, the dielectric layer existing at the both sides of the recording track is eliminated, and subsequently each layer after the reproduction layer is formed.
