PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a poor drainage or the like by capturing lint and dust generated in a drying process and preventing waste thread accumulated in a waste thread recovery device from falling into a circulating dehumidifying route in a washing and drying machine having the process of drying laundry by blowing warm air into a tub and performing an integrated process from washing to drying. SOLUTION: An inner tub 4 having axis of rotation in the vertical direction and storing laundry is rotatably supported in an outer tub 2 elastically suspended in the interior of a casing 1, and warm air heated by a heater 11 is delivered to the inner tub 4 by a drying blower 27. The waste thread recovery device 25 is provided halfway in the circulating dehumidifying route 28 dehumidifying moist warm air by a heat exchanger 26 connected to the lower portion of the outer tub 2, having the heat exchanger 26, the drying blower 27, the heater 11 and the like, and circulating the warm air. The waste thread recovery device 25 is detachably arranged in the horizontal direction of the casing 1 and is positioned below a lid 29 openably provided in the upper part of the casing 1.
