PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable floor height type structure which enables a floor height to be easily varied by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: Both ends of a variable beam 5 are joined to hinges 3a of columns adjoining each other in a y-direction, and when a coupler 6 of the variable beam 5 is normally rotated, a member length of the movable beam 5 is reduced so that the hinge 3a, which is joined to each of both ends, is drawn to the variable beam 5. Along with that, an upper column 2a and a lower column 2a, which constitute the column 2, are vertically rotated for inclination with horizontal movement of the hinge 3a, so as to form a doglegged shape. In this case, since reverse pushing pressure acts on the hinges 3a of the columns 2 which adjoin each other by sandwiching the variable beam 5 in between, the adjacent columns 2 form a symmetrical doglegged shape, so that a vertical height can be reduced.
