PURPOSE: An electric double layer capacitor and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to lower the resistance of electrode and achieve improved efficiency of capacitor assembling and manufacturing procedures. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a slurry for electrode of electric double layer capacitor, comprises a step of dispersing one or more organic binders selected from a group consisting of cellulose based binder, fluoride based binder, and butadiene based binder, into an organic solvent; and a step of producing a slurry by mixing activated carbon powder and conductive agent to the material obtained in the previous step. An electric double layer capacitor is characterized in that an electrode is manufactured by depositing the slurry onto an aluminum foil.
