PURPOSE: A double-acting compressor is provided to improve working efficiency by sucking, compressing and discharging independently in spaces of a housing and an operating chamber in reciprocating a piston with simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A compressor includes an oval housing; a rotating body rotating with a rotating shaft(8) in the housing; a piston(14) rotated and installed in the rotating body and contacted to the inner wall of the housing with sliding; a pumping unit(20) protruded from the inner wall of the housing, placed in the middle of the rotating body and composed of an intake chamber and a discharge chamber; and a pump(24) rotated in a pumping chamber of the housing with the rotating shaft. Intake pipes(2,3) and discharge pipes(4,5) are formed between top dead centers of the housing, and left and right spaces of the housing are sealed by contacting the rotating body in the top dead centers of the housing with sealing. A tail part of the piston is contacted to the inner wall of the housing, and the space is closed. Suction, compression and discharge are performed through the intake pipes and the discharge pipes.
