PURPOSE: A primary error source identification method for isolating faults causing a secondary error from a field-replaceable unit on a distributed nodal environment, a mechanism, and a computer system thereof are provided to offer an enhanced diagnosis method to identify an error source, and confirm a position of the primary error source causing the secondary error by being transferred to other computer parts. CONSTITUTION: A counter(76) is related to each computer part, and is initialized and increased when each computer part are operated. A latch(78) pauses the counter when the corresponding computer part detects an error. A judging tool judges that which counter from multiple counters has the lowest count value. |
