PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for performing a call during TV reception in a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to watch TV and perform call communication simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: The first RF switching unit(110) has a form of a SP3T(Single-Pole Three-Throw) consisting of one input port(P1), three output ports(P2-P4) and three control ports(Vc1-Vc3). The first diplexer(120) separates a PCS signal with a 1851-1989MHz frequency and a TV signal with a 50-700MHz frequency. The second diplexer(130) separates a CDMA signal with a 824-894MHz frequency and a TV signal with a 50-700MHz frequency. The second RF switching unit(160) has a form of SPDT(Single-Pole Double-Throw) consisting of one input port(P5), two output ports(P6,P7) and two control ports(Vitrl1,Vctrl2). A controller(190) controls a general operation of a mobile terminal, and controls the first RF switching unit(110) to be switched to the second diplexer(130) when the mobile terminal is set in a CDMA mode.
