PURPOSE: A data storage system for rescuing data from a defective bit is provided to prevent previously errors due to reading disturbance by analyzing an error correction circuit. CONSTITUTION: A data storage system includes a plurality of first memory cells, an error detection circuit(5), and an error determination circuit(6). The first memory cells are formed with a plurality of pages for reading out at least binary digital data as much as plural times without destruction of data. The error detection circuit receives a digital data output of at least one first page, detects an error from at least one bit of data, and outputs information on a position of the error. The error determination circuit determines whether the bit of data having the error is "1" or "0". When a result of the determination is "1" or "0", the first memory cell of the first page is erased and error-corrected data is written therein selectively.
