PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium for filtering calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, arsenic, boron, silicon, antimony, manganese, cadmium and copper. SOLUTION: This filter medium is obtained by depositing hydrated cerium oxide on a carrier consisting of an organic macromolecular material and contains 1-30 wt.% hydrated cerium oxide. The filter medium has a multi-layered shape of a hollow fiber and is preferably used for removing each ion of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, arsenic, boron, silicon, antimony, manganese, cadmium and copper in an aqueous solution.
