<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving display visibility by deterring interfacial reflection at an input part such as a resistance film type touch panel, in a normally black mode suitable for thickness reduction of the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The normally black mode liquid crystal display device having the input part 20 such as the touch panel, is provided with a first optical retardation plate 30a as a λ/4 wavelength plate on the surface on the input part 20 on the opposite side from a liquid crystal panel 10, and a second optical retardation plate 30b as a λ/4 wavelength plate is provided between the input part 20 and liquid crystal panel 10; and the first phase difference plate 30a deters reflected light (L2, L3) of external light L1 at the input part 20 from being transmitted, and the first optical retardation plate 30a and second optical retardation plate 30b are combined together to function as a λ/2 wavelength plate, thereby optically compensating the liquid crystal panel 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
