<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fuel cell having long-lifetime battery characteristics that can obtain sealing operation with high airtightness even by a low tightening force for the leakage prevention of gas between a separator and an electrolytic film, and achieves high power generation as compared with before in the fuel cell, where a plurality of unit cells, such as the fuel cell, are laminated. <P>SOLUTION: A gas sealing body surrounds the outer periphery of a power generation part including a gas diffusion electrode for sandwiching the electrolytic film for fitting to the end of the electrolytic film, and has a sealing section on both outer surfaces. In the gas sealing body, at least one pair of sealing sections having a plurality of projections with different heights are provided; and sealing with high airtightness is formed by sealing at least two stages at the outer periphery of the power generation part by allowing the separator, where an elastic body layer is added, to come into contact with the projections of the sealing body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
