PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tumbler of a variable lever tumbler lock, which prevents a key difference from being changed by an irregular operation. SOLUTION: The lever tumbler is constituted as a combination of almost C-shaped tumblers A1A and B1B which overlap each other; a supporting shaft 2 is supported so as to be rotatable around the axes of eccentric shafts 3 which are protrusively provided at both ends thereof; a part 7 to be engaged with a key groove 6 of a duplicate key 5, which is urged in the direction of interference with the duplicate key, is formed in the tumbler A1, one end of which is loosely fitted into the supporting shaft; an unlocking notch 8 is formed at the outside edge of the free end of the tumbler B, one end of which is rotatably fitted into the supporting shaft; a part, which overlaps a part to be engaged with a duplicate key-side edge of the tumbler A, is molded so as not to interfere with the duplicate key; an outside edge of a free end of the tumbler A overlaps that of the free end of the tumbler B; and clearance notches 10 of almost the same shape as that of the unlocking notch 8 of the tumbler A, corresponding to each engaging recess of the tumbler B, are formed in an overlap part in numbers equal to the number of the engaging recesses 11 and in angular alignment with a position wherein the unlocking notch 8 is formed.
