PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member having a small transmission loss and excellent heat resistance and a polymerizable composition preparing the optical member. SOLUTION: The optical member having a region as a light guiding part is obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable composition for the optical member containing a monomer represented by general formula (1) (wherein, X<SP>1</SP>and X<SP>2</SP>denote each a hydrogen, a heavy hydrogen, a fluorine or a chlorine; Rm denote each a 2-10C alkyl group wholly or partially substituted with a fluorine and/or heavy hydrogen, a 6-10C aryl group wholly and/or partially substituted with a fluorine and/or a heavy hydrogen or a 7-10C aralkyl group wholly or partially substituted with a fluorine and/or a heavy hydrogen) and containing a polymerization initiator.
