PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material of a high contrast indicator element for timing devices which includes: a photosensitive silver halide layer having improved adhesiveness between an imaging layer and a reflective substrate; and a specular reflecting layer. SOLUTION: The material for forming the indicator element includes a substrate and at least one photosensitive silver halide layer, wherein the substrate includes at least one specular reflecting layer between two polymer layers, and the polymer layer between the at least one specular reflecting layer and the silver halide layer is substantially transparent.
