<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely execute the right protection of data to be transmitted and received between a data processor and card type equipment mounted on the data processor. <P>SOLUTION: When card type equipment(for example, PC card 603) mounted on a data processor 601 is authenticated, data are exchanged between a non-contact communication means 605 arranged in a data processor 601 and a non-contact communication means 606 mounted on card type equipment(PC card 603) so that equipment authentication can be executed. Also, equipment authentication can be executed by using a non-contact type authentication pattern recognizing means arranged in the data processor and an authentication pattern means arranged in the card type equipment.
