PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost ball screw mechanism excellent in handleability, capable of highly accurately measuring a position of a screw shaft and a nut. SOLUTION: A cutout 12 is formed on the screw shaft 10 by machining, which enables position detection. Accordingly while machining and forming are easy comparing to a conventional technology of magnetizing a magnetic scale, heat resistance is high, and the position of the screw shaft or the nut can be stably and highly accurately measured for a long period without being influenced by residual magnetism.
