The invention relates to a highly efficient filter element with an improved separation capacity for relatively low air resistance and a method for the production of said type of filter element comprising at least two layers which are made of a porous carrier material and which are coated on two opposite sides with a fibre layer made of nanofibres and/or microfibres having a defined electric polarity. Said filter element is produced according to said method wherein nanofibres and/or microfibres are formed from a solution wherein an electrostatical force acts upon the solution in a high-voltage field. The force separates the solution from the nanofibres and/or the microfibres, the surface tension, the viscosity, the conductivity and/or the loading of the solution is adjusted by additional substances. |
