摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating structure of a transfer unit of a polycistron, enhancing identification accuracy of a position of a starting codon, making preliminary information unnecessary, corresponding to a base sequence with high GC content or estimating the species name of a prokaryote from which a DNA fragment derives from base sequence information of the DNA fragment isolated from the prokaryote whose species name is not clear. <P>SOLUTION: After calculating codon use frequency of a CDS identified based on sequence information of the DNA fragment, codon use frequency mpost similar to the codon use frequency is selected from among codon use frequencies of a plurality of prokaryotes and gene structure is identified based on the selected codon use frequency.
