GENE STRUCTURE IDENTIFICATION METHOD OF PROKARYOTE AND ESTIMATION METHOD OF MICROORGANISM FROM WHICH DNA FRAGMENT DERIVES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating structure of a transfer unit of a polycistron, enhancing identification accuracy of a position of a starting codon, making preliminary information unnecessary, corresponding to a base sequence with high GC content or estimating the species name of a prokaryote from which a DNA fragment derives from base sequence information of the DNA fragment isolated from the prokaryote whose species name is not clear.

SOLUTION: After calculating codon use frequency of a CDS identified based on sequence information of the DNA fragment, codon use frequency mpost similar to the codon use frequency is selected from among codon use frequencies of a plurality of prokaryotes and gene structure is identified based on the selected codon use frequency. In addition, the microoganism from which the codon use frequency selected among the codon use frequencies of the plurality of prokaryotes derives is estimated as the microorganism from which the DNA fragment derives.
