PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp driving circuit restrained from the generation of arc abnormality like arc jump or arc flicker. SOLUTION: The lamp driving circuit comprises a discharge lamp 90, a power supply circuit 30 and a driving circuit 40 generating driving pulse current for driving the discharge lamp 90 and supplying the driving pulse current to the discharge lamp 90, an arc abnormality detection part 60 detecting arc abnormality of the discharge lamp 90, and a control part 70 superposing a pulse current 100 on the driving pulse current when when the arc abnormality is detected by the arc abnormality detection part 60.
