PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminesent element having high luminescent efficiency and a lighting device and a display device using it. SOLUTION: In the EL element having at least an emitting layer including phosphorescence compound and a hole transport layer, adjoining the emitting layer and including a hole transport material, 0-0 band of phosphorescence spectral of the hole transport material is 300nm to 450nm and its molecular weight is equal to or larger than 550.
