PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic pressure type bearing unit, wherein a thrust bearing gap can be accurately managed at a low cost. SOLUTION: The position of a bearing member 7 with respect to a housing 5 is set so that an axial distance between an end face 7a of the bearing member 7 and the inner face of a sealing member 9 is equal to the total of the sum of the widths of the thrust bearing gaps Cs1, Cs2 and the width of a flange portion 3b. Thus, the thrust bearing gaps Cs1, Cs2 each having a preset value are formed between each of both end faces 3b1, 3b2 of the flange portion 3b and each of the end face 7a of the bearing member 7 and the inner face of the sealing member 9.
