PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological denitrification treatment method for highly efficiently denitrifying high-concentration nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen in water to be treated containing high-concentration salts without dilution. SOLUTION: By using a microbial population containing sulfur oxidizing bacteria, the high-concentration nitrate nitrogen and nitride nitrogen in the water to be treated containing the high-concentration salts are denitrified without the dilution. In the case that denitrification activity lowers, one or more kinds of ethanol, a saccharide and an alcohol fermented solution of the saccharide are added and a biological denitrification treatment is activated. Since the water to be treated is not diluted and the treatment is highly efficiently performed, a waste water treating device is miniaturized, an installation area is reduced and the biological denitrification treatment at a low treatment cost is made possible.
