PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder which can suppress a deformation due to deflection. SOLUTION: The holder 3 holds a turning tool 4 having a cutting tip, and is mounted on a main spindle, etc. of a machine tool. The holder 3 has a turning tool holding portion 33 formed on a thick-walled portion 36. The turning tool 4 is inserted into the turning tool holding portion 33, The thick-walled portion 36 has a plurality of threaded holes 8a, 8b, 8c drilled thereon so as to engage with bolt members 6a, 6b, 6c for pushing the side surface of the turning tool 4. At least one of the threaded holes 8a, 8b, 8c is arranged lower than a horizontal reference line H0 passing through the vertically middle position of the turning tool holding portion 33.
