Dietary mineral supplements comprising the calcium and/or magnesium salts of 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyric acid are disclosed as efficient means of orally administering calcium and/or magnesium in order to prevent or treat calcium and magnesium deficiency pathologies. The conjoint bioavailability of these important minerals is thereby enhanced.
