A control device (7), wherein an air quantity sucked into an engine (2) is calculated by using an output current from an air flow meter (14) disposed on the downstream side of a throttle valve (12) and a fuel injection quantity for the air quantity is provided. For the calculation of the fuel injection quantity, a value is obtained by doubling the integrated value of the sucked air quantity ranging from a start value to a peak value. The value thus obtained is taken as the overall integrated sucked air quantity in the suction stroke of the engine, and divided by a specified air-fuel ratio to provide the fuel injection quantity.
