PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate simultaneous use from opposite lanes while preventing cost increase and device size increase due to an increased number of parts by maximizing common use of parts and units, in a single money handling device for charge settlement shareable between two filling machines installed on an island between two lanes in a self-service gas station. SOLUTION: A money handling device 1, which is equipped with serving means 1a and 1b with respective money inlet/outlet parts 9a and 9b on two opposite outer surfaces, comprises a common bill transfer part 17 for transferring bills input from each money inlet/outlet part into the device and discharging bills to each money inlet/outlet part, a common bill identification and counting part 18 for identifying the authenticity, denominations and count of the bills fed into the device by the common bill transfer part, a common bill safe 31 for accepting the bills identified by the identification and counting part according to denominations and delivering the stored bills to the common bill transfer part according to denominations, and a control part 16 for controlling them.
