PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation and control method for an antisweating heater of a refrigerating and freezing showcase capable of saving energy by saving power and eliminating the waste of power consumption even if in-chamber temperature and out-chamber temperature are different from each other in using the showcase under rated conditions and in actually using the showcase or irrespective of the capacity of a heater. SOLUTION: In this refrigerating and freezing showcase, the inside of a showcase body formed of heat insulation walls is divided into a cool air circulation duct and a commodity storage chamber through a partition plate, commodities in the commodity storage chamber is cooled by cool air blown from a cool air blowout port in the cool air circulation duct, and a heater for preventing dew formation is disposed in the showcase. A temperature sensor 3 and a humidity sensor 15 as means for detecting an atmospheric temperature and atmospheric humidity in use are installed, a dew point temperature is calculated based on the detected atmospheric temperature and atmospheric humidity, and a value obtained by adding a specified temperature to the dew point temperature is taken as a set temperature. Dewing prevention heaters 11a and 11b are intermittently operated so that the temperature of a dew prevention heater mounting member becomes the set temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
