PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pole supporting device for a wooden building for supporting the pole firmly to withstand a large shock of an earthquake or the like without reducing a cross-sectional area of a joint part of the pole by erecting and supporting the pole by a foundation. SOLUTION: A tubular body 18 is made of a metal and its bottom is closed. The tubular body 18 is tightly fitted to a lower end of the pole 25 made of wood, and its lower part is buried in the concrete foundation 15. The lower part of the tubular body 18 is held by a metal holder 23 buried in the foundation 15. A wooden sill 26 is fastened onto an upper surface of the foundation 15, and an end face of the sill 26 is brought into contact with or brought close to an upper part of a side face of the tubular body 18.
