PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure observer's existing space and to provide wider visual field without requiring an expensive short focus telescope in performing astronomical observation by using a direct vision type optical system represented by a refracting telescope at a window or on a veranda. SOLUTION: The elevating leg has a mechanism that the leg having a pantagraph type link motion is attached to a window frame or the handrail of the veranda, and the astronomical telescope is moved up and down together with a pedestal and further it is moved to be shaken out to the outside of the hand rail, whereby the wider visual field is secured while preparing the observer's space.
