<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fully suppress a hue shift accompanied with graduation conversion. <P>SOLUTION: The gradation conversion method and device are characterized by performing gradation conversion in a color space in which the xy chromaticity values of three primary colors are given by a formula (1).
