Device and method for the error check of an evaluation circuit

The method uses a switch device (1) to connect the evaluation circuit (4) either to the sensor (2) or to a reference resistance (3). To check the functional reliability of the evaluation circuit the latter is connected to at least one reference resistance whilst a circuit (6) at the output of the evaluation circuit compares the output signal of this circuit with at least one predetermined reference value. Independent claim describes circuit for monitoring evaluation circuit with switch device between evaluation circuit and sensor to switch between connection to sensor and at least one reference resistance so that the evaluation circuit can be connected to at least one reference resistance, and a circuit checks the functional reliability of the evaluation circuit.
